Day Four

As I have finished all the planning, I am able to start modelling my top prority models which are Pyramids, Sphinx, Ship, river Nile, market stalls and the ground.
The modelling is so far going alright and I'm currently modelling the head of the sphinx.

The head is nowhere near finishing yet.

Day Three

I finished all the planning work and I can now start modelling the objects. I will use my priority list and start with my high priority list. I have 18 prioritised  models that i think would make my environment look complete, but only 5 are my top priority.
I finished my sketches for my main models and my top down plan.

Day Two

I completed my moodboard after adding some other parts. My completed moodboard is:

Overall I am happy with it, but there is quite a few things that need fixing. The main one is the market stall, becuase the perspective seems odd and I couldn't get it right. Also the actual stall looks strange, becuase I had to make it using stock images of paper for the covering and textures for the mat. The statue next to it is in that place becuase it is covering the point where the sand and rocks should join. The camel needs better blending and the shadow needs fixing. The rest I am quite happy with and I quite like the effect the papyrus texture gives the image, plus it hides the different lighting all over the image.

Day One

Today I started to make the moodboard that will hopefully get the mood of the environment I want to create.  I have already finished my brainstorm of ideas and collecting reference images/textures.I currently have 50+ images and have styarted to collect some useful textures. I have not quite finished the moodboard, but I only want to add small things like market stalls with fruit or egyptian pottery.

My moodboard so far is:
I'm using adobe photoshop for my moodboard as I have access to it at college and home, so I can work on it at home. At the moment I do not like my moodboard, because nothing seems to fit or look right. I think playing around with the brightness/contrast on each individual layer might make a difference and adding shadows. I want to try and add the river Nile to the picture and I'll probably add it on the right side of my moodboard. I don't like the people in the background, but only because they look like tourists and my moodboard is suppose to feel like ancient egypt.
